Last year turned out to be quite rollicking. In March, 2010 an obscure tax strategy company CEO hired me to
“turn her into a star.” The position was essentially one of Marketing Director, but proved to be much more.
For the first time someone simply turned me loose to engage all the skills and talents I could bring to the table.
Within the first month there was a hurricane of change and enhancements that swept over her and the firm. I
created two completely revamped websites, new webinars, a steady stream of impressive blogs with full social
media outreach to back them.
In the second month I had the CEO go to an image consultant for wardrobe, makeup, hair, and movement. She
met regularly with a speech therapist to improve her on-stage delivery and diction. At the top of the page is the
CEO' favorite photo of herself on the left. To the right is the aftermath of my urging and work. Her
presentations improved dramatically as well.
A full series of power point presentations were crafted for both webinars and live stage presentations. She was
booked for several events where she had crowds of 500 or more listening to her in rapt attention for 45 minutes to
an hour each time (and remember, she is talking about TAXES…not the most interesting of subjects.). These
events and presentations are now scheduled as regular items for her since she wowed the crowds.
I nominated her for awards and wrote a stream of media articles for print and online publications. She was
booked for radio shows and was becoming a regular very quickly considering the Health Care Law taxes. I
positioned her to take full advantage of the news cycle and the growing debates on the national scene.
By the third month I had ghost written and published her first book for her. Her second book arrived a mere two
months later. New image, new business cards and online presence, new stage presence with engaging speeches
suddenly achieved her goal. She was on the verge of national attention. The book covers appear to the right.
Of course, there was a stark prediction on the day she brought me aboard. I told her that within a year she would
hit the edge of the national spotlight. My work would take her to the point where she would suddenly be
“Discovered” by high powered media people and swept away. I would be forgotten and relegated to the dustbin.
I was wrong, it only took seven months until the big guns came calling and suddenly I was excluded from
everything. Within two weeks she “needed to make a change.” I was laid off and off she went to the limelight.
However, such is the life of a ghost. If you are in search of someone who can do the same for you. Contact me
now. As of January 2011, I have an open situation. This will probably not last long.
